Summer sledging in Chamonix

Chamonix Amusement Park

Located in the Planards ski area, the Chamonix Amusement Park offers numerous activities that will delight all ages. Between slides, trampolines, MTB, splash boats, carousel and mechanical diggers... The hardest part will be stopping!

But the most popular attraction is the summer tobogganing.

What is the Alpine Coaster sled?

If you're a fan of tobogganing on snow in winter, you can also go tobogganing in summer!

Alpine Coaster tobogganing in Chamonix is a winter and summer activity that appeals to young and old alike.

Whether you are a thrill seeker, a kid who loves rides, or looking for an activity after long days of skiing or hiking, summer sledding is made for you!

The advantage of this attraction is that it adapts to all desires. Indeed, it is possible to adjust its speed, so as not to leave anyone behind.

This attraction is a downhill ride on a toboggan attached to rails. This roller coaster in the heart of the Planards resort is 1,300 meters long, and features tight turns, jumps, waves and even 540° twists.

The Alpine Coaster sled was opened in 2011, replacing the old summer sled, and is located in downtown Chamonix. It offers a thrill or a leisurely ride on the mountain, depending on your taste, since speed can be adjusted by means of a lever that acts as a brake.

The advantages of this summer toboggan include the fact that it's open all year round, summer and winter alike. It's accessible to children aged 3 and over, accompanied by an adult, or on their own from the age of 8. It's possible to ride alone, with two children or even two adults. This attraction is, of course, completely safe, whatever the weather.

The attraction is a closed circuit, which means you board your sled at the bottom of the site and are towed to the top. Then... adventure begins!

Timetables

Open all year round, except from November to mid-December, opening times vary according to the time of year, school vacations and weekends.

It is also possible to privatize the site outside opening hours, under certain conditions.

Price list

Summer tobogganing has the same price all year round, with a sliding scale depending on the number of rides you buy:

  • 1 tour = €8
  • 6 laps = €40
  • 10 laps = €64

Please note that the vending machines for the summer toboggan are not the same as those for the park's other attractions.

Entrance to the park is free, then you'll need to buy tokens for the attractions. Here are the prices for the park's attractions:

  • 1 token = €2
  • 8 tokens = €14
  • 18 tokens = €24

There are also combos:

  • Unlimited toboggan bracelet = €5
  • For a package of 2 luge rides + 18 tokens + 2 unlimited toboggan wristbands = €40

How do I get there?

The theme park, located at 351 chemin du pied du Grépon, 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, is right in the center of town, and there are several ways to get there:

  • By car, there are two parking lots close to the theme park: Les Planards and Le Biollay.
  • By bus, you can stop at the nearest bus stop, on the Place Mont Blanc with the free Chamonix city bus, or at the Mulet stop at the Chamonix train station.
  • By train, stopping at Chamonix Centre station.

On site

For a break from the action, or after you've had your fill of the thrills, you can take advantage of the catering facilities set up near the attractions or return to the ski slopes.
