Every year, at the end of June, the Mont-Blanc marathon takes place in Chamonix in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. For the occasion, the French ski capital located in Haute-Savoie is transformed into a trail festival.

The Mont-Blanc Marathon in Chamonix is the unmissable event for runners. The next edition will take place from 23 to 26 June 2022.

Mont-Blanc Marathon: the program

 

During the famous Mont-Blanc Marathon, several hours of live coverage are provided in order to follow the progress of the events, the progress of the runners as well as the results.

 

Here is the 2022 program schedule:

  • Thursday 23 June:

The Trail Camp from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Place du Mont-Blanc. It is a show bringing together all the equipment manufacturers in the world of trail running, partners and organizers.

  • Friday 24 June:

90 km from Mont-Blanc.
Vertical kilometer of Mont-Blanc.

  • Saturday June 25:

23 km from Mont-Blanc.
10 km Mont-Blanc.
Mini cross.
Star duo.

  • Sunday 26 June:

42 km Mont-Blanc
Young Race Marathon.

 

Mont-Blanc Marathon: race information

 

Running on the roof of Europe and enjoying the breathtaking panoramas is worth it. Indeed, most Mont-Blanc marathon races require a good experience in mountain running and a certain UTMB performance index. Find out before taking part in a race.

 

90 km Mont-Blanc: departure at 4 am Place du Triangle de l'Amitié for 92 km and 6330 m of positive altitude difference. An ultra-trail event at altitude that is as technical as it is legendary with a night game.

 

42 km from Mont-Blanc: departure at 7.30 am from Place du Triangle de l'Amitié for a distance of 42 km with an altitude difference of 2540 m. It is the most anticipated event of the weekend, it is part of the second stage (the only one in France) of the Salomon Golden Trail World Series.

 

23 km Mont-Blanc: departure at 8 am: paragliding area for a distance of 23 km, a positive altitude difference of 1680 m. This friendly race will celebrate its 43rd anniversary in 2022.

 

Starred duo: departure 19:30 at Place du Triangle de l'Amitié for a distance of 21 km with an altitude difference of 1450 m. This night race is a duo event.

 

10 km from Mont-Blanc: departure at 10:30am: paragliding area for a distance of 10 km including an altitude difference of 280 m. This event takes place in the Chamonix Valley and can be run with family or friends.

 

kmVertical of Mont-Blanc: departure at 17:00 Place du Triangle de l'Amitié for a distance of 3.8 km and a positive altitude difference of 1000 m. It's an alpine race against time.

An award will be given to the time record for the best of men and the best of women.

 

Young Race Marathon: start at 10:30am in Montroc for 15 km with a positive altitude difference of 810 m and a negative of 1160 m. It is a race dedicated to young people, it follows the end of the 42 km Mont-Blanc course.

 

Mini-cross: departure from the paragliding area at 14:30 for the 800m cross, 15:00 for the 2 km race and 15:30 for the 3 km cross. Courses like the grown-ups, for children. Victory for all participants with medals awarded upon arrival.

 

Register for the 2022 Mont-Blanc Marathon

 

Registrations for the Mont-Blanc 2022 Marathon are only made online with a bank card payment.

 

During pre-registration, runners can register alone or in a club and must choose between the following three races: 23 km, 42 km and 90 km. In the event that the number of pre-registered for a race exceeds the maximum number of runners possible, a draw is made.

 

No draw is necessary for the other races: 10 km, KMV, Duo Étoiles, Young Race Marathon and Mini Cross. Registrations for these races are open until the available places are exhausted so do not delay!
