La Bionnassay Glacier Hike itself is very fun and punctuated by ladders and handrails to help you on your journey. In the direction of the Col du Tricot, you can pass by the Chalets de l'Are, then follow the path of left to join the Eagle's nest. On the right, you can then admire the seracs and crevasses of the glacier, with the Col du Tricot in the background. The Bionnassay glacier, on the other hand, stands in front of you. By taking the path of Bionnassay glacier, you will go down along the glacial moraine to reach the GR5 of the Tour of Mont Blanc, in the direction of Bellevue. Be careful though, the crossing requires a certain amount of experience. La Passerelle du Glacier de Bionnassay, which spans the torrent, offers a point of view (and sensations!) fantastic, but requires sure-footedness! Its access is also closed in winter.

 

The Tramway of Mont Blanc : the pleasure of hiking without the difficulty

If the Passerelle du Glacier de Bionnassay seems too perilous, you will be delighted to learn that there is an ideal alternative to take advantage of Sentier du Glacier de Bionnassay as a family. The Tramway of Mont Blanc, or TMB, at Departure from Saint Gervais, takes you to the station Eagle's nest At Bionnassay glacier.

Since the Refuge du Nid d'Aigle, you can borrow a small pathway To perform a rambling of one hour round trip accessible to all. However, note that in winter, the pretty cog train only goes as far as the Bellevue Plateau, where you can enjoy a pleasant walk in the heart of the Prarion ski area. The ascent is well worth it too!
