Le Pas dans le vide is made up of five panels of three layers of glass. To preserve the impressive clarity of the glass, you'll need to put on thick slippers. Worried about the safety of the site? Rest assured, the reinforced glass can withstand winds of up to 220 kilometers per hour, as well as temperatures below 40 degrees. Access to Step into the void
If you want to get to Le Pas dans le vide, the hotel Le Refuge des Aiglons is the perfect starting point. Its location close to the Aiguille du Midi cable car means you can start your day stress-free at Life Space with a good breakfast. If you're coming by bus, get off at the Chamonix Sud stop to take the Aiguille du Midi cable car. If you're arriving by car, you can choose between the Grépon and Courmayeur parking lots.
From Chamonix, take the cable car to the Plan de l'Aiguille stop at 2317 m, then the second section of the cable car to the top station. In the large Aiguille du Midi complex, head for the elevator to the top platform. Expect a waiting time of around 30 minutes in high season. So plan your departure early enough in the morning from Chamonix to avoid a long wait.
