Some require several hours' walk to reach, while others are just a stone's throw from town...

The Haute Savoie region boasts dozens of lakes of varying degrees of renown, all of which are part of the beauty of the Alps.
Chamonix's geographical location makes it easy for tourists to contemplate these bodies of water and their enchanting scenery.

One of the valley's best-known lakes is Lac Blanc. Part of the Aiguilles Rouges reserve at 2352 meters, it has the particularity of always having part of its surface covered by snow, even in summer!

Walkers usually follow the trail to the Lac des Chéserys downstream. Both lakes offer superb panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc chain (Les Drus, Mont-Blanc, Grandes Jorasses, Aiguille Verte among others) and the valley's prestigious glaciers (Tours, Argentière, Grands-Montets, Mer de Glace, Glacier des Bossons, Taconnaz).

Still on the same slope, you can contemplate the lesser-known but no less magnificent Lac du Cornu and Lac du Brévent.
These Chamonix icons are easily accessible thanks to the resort's 350 km of trails - 170 possible itineraries!

Our hotel staff will be happy to advise you on the best trails to take and how to get there. Be sure to check the weather conditions before heading off into the mountains.

In case these are not favorable, you won't be bored!
