World Cup schedule

 

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is one of the most important locations in the climbing world. In 2022, the town will have the honor of hosting one of the world's finest climbing competitions: the Chamonix Climbing World Cup. The world's best climbers will compete at the foot of Mont Blanc in a variety of speed and difficulty events.

 

The World Cup program promises to be a thrilling one! The main sites to be climbed include :

  • Les Chavants aux Houches : site height 15 metres, starting altitude 1,000 metres.
  • Rocher d'escalade des Gaillands, located at the bottom of the valley (a paradise for beginners and very occasional climbers): site height between 20 and 70 meters, starting altitude 1,000 meters.
  • La Joux: site height between 5 and 30 metres, starting altitude 1,250 metres.
  • Barberine: site height between 15 and 300 metres, starting altitude 1,300 metres.
  • Dalles de l'Arveyron, Chamonix: site height between 20 and 60 meters, starting altitude 1,300 meters.
  • Le Couteray, Vallorcine: site height 15 metres, starting altitude 1,400 metres.
  • Le Chapeau, Chamonix: site height between 20 and 100 metres, starting altitude 1,600 metres.
  • Others: Coupeau, les Houches, Falaise du Brévent, Falaise de Montenvers, etc.

 

The town of Chamonix has also prepared for any weather conditions. On rainy days, the Richard Bozon sports center offers an indoor climbing wall to host the Chamonix Climbing World Cup events.
